Oil Tank Fire Drill at GC6
|

A fire drill was conducted at GC6. A fire broke out at a crude oil tank inside GC6. The fire extended to a nearby treated water tank. When a major incident was declared, employees were evacuated and the plant was totally shut-down and isolated, while the fire fighting began immediately. The drill included evacuation of one dead employee and seven casualties. One employee was slightly injured, but he quickly received the necessary medical attention. Fire-fighting equipments, crews and resources were put on full alert throughout KOC areas. “Cooperation among all concerned teams was excellent; even the state fire crews were effectively involved in the activity,” DMD (South & East) Hashem Hashem, who supervised the drill. “Such drills are continuously conducted to ensure round-the-clock readiness to face all kinds of emergencies,” he remarked. |
