“KOC adopts the one-team spirit in all its work,” Team Leader, Major Project -I, Muhammad Al-Otaibi said at the kick-off meeting for the construction of Booster Station 160 which was held at the Hubara Center. Employees involved in the project from KOC, the main contractor and the sub-contractors attended the meeting. “This principle increases efficiency and speeds up work. Every one is invited to speak up about any problem or obstacle so that an immediate solution can be found,” he concluded.
Project Manager, Lucio Mucciariello, Snamprogetti-Saipem, the main contractor, spoke about the contract scope of work, execution action plan and time schedule for each phase, as well as the preparation of the site, drawings, purchasing, quality control, HSE systems, Kuwaitization and other activities.
Each sub-contractor spoke about their own particular scope of work. For instance, Al-Kharafi National will execute the piping and civil works and estimated their own labor force at 1,500-2,000 workers.
General Electric spoke about the compressors to be supplied; two high-pressure turbines and two-low pressure turbines will be installed in the new BS-160. These state-of-the-art turbines are similar to those used in the latest Boeing-made aircraft
