Dental Services
Dental Division treats all diseases relevant to teeth, their protection and safety.
Care and attention of the teeth protect and minimize them form decay, especially in children. In addition, such care prevents Gingivitis
The curative measures are divided into two parts, protection and treatment. As regards protection, it includes keeping teeth healthy, treatment of tooth roots, gums and other mouth diseases such as fixing dentures (moveable/fixed).
Treatment measures includes extraction of teeth (either Under GA or minor/local sedation).
There is an on-call Dental Surgeon on a daily basis to handle all emergency cases. Patients can report daily for dental treatment. First visit is without appointment after which the Dental Surgeon keeps patients under regular follow-up by giving appointment until treatment is completed.
Negligence of teeth and waiting until the last minute to treat them might lead to difficulty in cure and then treatment takes a longer time.

Patients who require special dietary regime are referred to the Dietitian by the treating doctors, who thereafter arranges regular follow-up of patients, such as:
Diabetic & hypertensive patients.
High cholesterol / triglycerides.
Over-weight, etc.
Dietary Services are offered to all, irrespective of age, and advice, guidance and booklets are given to them. In addition, special attention is also given to pregnant & breast feeding ladies as well as to the newborn & children for proper nourishment.

The Obs. & Gyn. Dept. runs a 24 – hour service to all of our patients. The dept. runs 24 clinics per week.
(Ante natal booking Clinics, Ante natal follow up Clinics, Scan Clinic, Gyn. Clinic, Family Planning Clinic, Coloscopy Clinic, Assisted Reproduction Clinic).
The Dept. performs 2 elective operating lists every week in addition to all emergency surgeries that are admitted 24 hours/day.
We have the facilities for ultrasound diagnosis, continuous foetal heart monitoring.
Also the services of hysteroscopy & laparoscopy (diagnostic & operative) are available to all patients in need on a 24 – hour stay basis.
A combined obstetric and diabetic clinic is also available on a daily basis. The IVF unit offers its services to all infertility cases that are not responding to the conventional treatment to avoid sending these complicated cases of infertility of treatment abroad.
Obs. & Gyn. Dept. provides continuous intensive care services equipment at labour with modern medical facilities for monitoring fetus as well as the mother during labour by experienced obstetricians and midwives.

Department Of Ophthalmology
The Department of Ophthalmology has recently witnessed a substantial development in the provided services.
The new department combines a number of clinics including the strabismus (squint) clinic and retina clinic. This is in addition to providing surgeries for cataract, glaucoma, squint and oculoplasty.
The new clinics have been equipped with the latest diagnostic and therapeutic tools in the world, like fundus camera with digital imaging system, optic never head analyzer and two laser machines. The department also hosts regularly visiting consultants from the best universities in the world to examine patients and perform surgeries.
Pediatric Top The Department is one of the busiest departments of the Hospital. Over 2000 children are admitted to the 34 – bedded Paediatric Ward and over 200 newborn babies to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit where intensive care of extremely premature babies (weighing less than 1 kg at birth) is undertaken with excellent survival rates.
Pediatric
15 clinics are held every week in a purpose built children’s out-patients area. The Department is staffed by 3 consultants and 4 medical officers.

After the 2nd World War there was a greater concentration on physiotherapy as there was a great need for treating increased injured and handicapped cases. Within a short time the physiotherapy treatment met extreme appreciation of all workers in this field due to the tremendous achievements rendered to patients. The physiotherapy depends upon natural resources, such as water, light, electricity, heat, exercises, etc. as means of treatment.
Therefore, it is considered the safest treatment with least consequences. Considering the technological development, several technologies were introduced which participated greatly in expanding the scope of physiotherapy treatment, such as short waves, ultrasound, electrical current, low & moderate vibrations, etc.
The physiotherapy Division treatment plays an important role in many fields of medicine, such as, orthopaedics and its surgeries, neurological diseases and its surgeries, internal medicine, paediatrics, etc.
The physiotherapy Division not only offers treatment, but also protects from various injuries through issuing educational articles, correcting misunderstanding, arranging lectures and participating in courses to the workers in various fields.
The Physiotherapy Division at Ahmadi Hospital offers daily services during official working hours and the first visit should be through the treating doctor
Assisted Reproductive Unit Top
Assisted Reproductive Unit
The Assisted Reproductive Unit started on 1993 by the help of a specialized British team.
In 1993 the first test tube baby was born and since then many infertile couples dreams have come true.
The assisted reproductive unit established at Ahmadi Hospital consists of 2 Gynecologists, embryologist and 4 nurses.
The treatment starts by stimulating the ovaries to produce some eggs, then collecting these eggs and mixing them with the husband’s sperm.
After that the embryologist assesses fertilization and separates the fertilized ones from the ethers and keeps them in the incubators till the day of transfer in to the uterus. The whole process is done in the outpatient clinic.

Surgical Services Division
The Surgical Services Division provides treatment on a 24-hours basis to all categories of patients: adults as well as children, and implements the most modernized medical equipment and instruments such as laser and diagnostic speculum.
The Surgeons run 20 Clinics weekly, which include (General Surgery, Urology, Breast Disease, Neurosurgery, Fractures and Orthopedics). In addition, they offer two sessions weekly in the Minor Theatre, performing minor surgeries under local anesthesia. However, attempts are now being made to match up the Universal Standard by organizing unit for one-day surgeries.
