KOC Display Center
KOC Display Centre is one of the most important conspicuous landmarks in the State of Kuwait. The Display Centre includes information explaining the story of oil discovery in Kuwait. The Display Centre opens its doors for all categories of the society and VIP visitors of other countries worldwide.
KOC Display Centre was founded in 1956 aiming to give its visitors the opportunity to have a tour through which they can gain information about the company and its production operations. The display center then was simply telling the story of oil through photos, statistics, and documentations. The Display Centre was developed, renewed and expanded in 1965, 1978, and 1996 to match the expansion of the company's operations and its increasing production.
In 2008 the Display Center was updated and renewed once again, thus giving
more comprehensive picture about KOC and its Operations, in addition to some idea about the technologies used in oil and natural gas production as well as oil facilities affiliated to the company. The Display Center also includes a section for documenting the events of the defunct Iraqi regime invasion and the biggest environmental disaster it caused in modern history by burning of Kuwait oil fields.
In the very near future, a state of the art "KOC Oil & Gas Exhibition" will be built in Ahmadi city.
The foundation stone for the new Display Center which is located at the entrance of Ahmadi was recently laid. The new site will encompass a total area larger than 60,000 square meters.
The Display Center will be named after Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber, the tenth ruler of Kuwait, during whose tenure the country witnessed numerous achievements, including the discovery and exportation of oil, which accordingly brought about monumental changes to the life of the Kuwaiti community.
This Display Center will not only be a landmark for KOC but will also be a significant facility for Kuwait as a whole, because it has been synonymous with the company since it was founded in 1956. The Center has played a pivotal role in educating members of the community and visitors of Kuwait about the history of oil in Kuwait from its earliest beginnings.
There was a need to construct a new Display Center in accordance with a new vision so that it includes the latest technologies in order to serve a broader segment of the community, particularly students and researchers.
