As part of its ongoing commitment to social responsibility and its dedication to honoring creative individuals who have enriched the cultural and artistic scene in Kuwait, KOC organized a special initiative to honor the esteemed Kuwaiti artist Saad Al-Faraj, one of the icons of Kuwaiti and Khaleeji art, through the screening of a documentary titled "Buqshat Saad", which narrates the pioneering journey of the artist.
The honoring ceremony was held at Grand Cinemas in Al-Andalus Mall, located in Hawalli, in the presence of the artist himself and a number of artistic, cultural, and official figures. Attendees included Ahmadi Governor Sheikh Humoud Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Mishaal Mubarak Al-Sabah, Assistant Undersecretary for Radio & Television at the Ministry of Information Turki Al-Mutairi, Secretary-General of the National Council for Culture, Arts, and Letters Dr. Mohammed Al-Jassar, in addition to KOC's DCEO for Planning & Innovation Mohammed Al-Abduljaleel, Manager PR & Information Group Mohammed Al-Basry, and several other Company officials.
During the ceremony, Al-Basry delivered a speech in which he affirmed that this initiative reflects KOC's appreciation for an artistic figure who has honored the nation through his pioneering works and distinguished performances over many decades. He described Saad Al-Faraj as a "school" in creativity, artistic commitment, and human values.
Al-Basry also explained that the title of the film, “Buqshat Saad", symbolizes the artist's profound legacy of experiences and accomplishments that extend beyond the realm of art, making a positive impact on Kuwaiti society.
Following Al-Basry's speech, a documentary of the artist's journey was screened, which was well-received by the audience due to its professional and distinguished production.
At the end of the event, Saad Al-Faraj was presented with an honorary plaque, who then expressed his deep gratitude for the initiative, his pride in being honored, and his sincere thanks and appreciation to KOC.
