Deep Drilling Group celebrates the drilling of a well with the Directional Drilling System
The Deep Drilling Group, represented by the Deep Drilling & Workover Team (VI), celebrated the successful completion of drilling the 22-inch section of Well 931 in the Al-Rawdatain field, using the rotary directional drilling system in cooperation with Schlumberger-SLB.
This drilling is the first of its kind in the world of this size for an (S-Shape) well, and the first directional drilling of this size in the Middle East. This was achieved in November 2022, exceeding expectations.
The celebration was attended by Manager Deep Drilling Group Bandar Al-Mutairi, and Team Leaders of Deep Drilling Teams, alongside Omar Al-Najjar, General Manager of the Well Construction Sector at Schlumberger.
During the ceremony, Al-Mutairi thanked the Deep Drilling & Workover Team (VI); namely its Team Leader Ali Safar, Drilling Specialist Mohsen Ragai, Chief Drilling Engineer Nawaf Shadad, and Drilling Engineer Abdul Rahman Al-Rish; praising everyone's efforts and hard work, and encouraging them to maintain this level of the performance.
This achievement was accomplished thanks to the tireless efforts of the Deep Drilling Group to deliver wells of the highest quality, efficiency, and speed; in order to achieve the KOC 2040 Strategy
