To mark the World Environment Day, and under the patronage and presence of manager, Project Support Services Group, Haifa Al-Hajri, the Quality, Health, Safety and Environment Team, under the supervision of Team Leader Faris Al-Mansouri, organized a campaign entitled "Solutions to Plastic Pollution", at the auditorium of the Ahmadi Mega Complex.
Group Managers, Team Leaders in the Directorate of Major Projects and Technical Services, a host of concerned teams employees, project management consultants and contractor employees, attended the event, which aims to raise awareness, reduce the risks of plastic pollution, and implement environmentally friendly and sustainable solutions.
Al Hajri delivered a speech in which she welcomed the attendees, noting that World Environment Day represents an important opportunity to enhance knowledge of environmental protection and take responsibility for preserving the planet.
Then, Dr. Sultan Al-Salem from the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research gave a visual presentation on plastic pollution and plastic waste management experiences. Dr. Manaf Behbehani from the Kuwait Society for Environmental Protection gave a presentation on the impact of plastic pollution on marine fauna. In her turn, Munira Al-Wuhaib from the Environment Public Authority gave a presentation on ways to reduce plastic pollution.
At the conclusion of the event, Al-Hajri and Al-Mansouri presented tokens of appreciation to the lecturers, and a demonstration was held on the plastic recycling machine.
