KOC Participates in Custody Transfer & Metering Conference in Abu Dhabi

The Export Oil Movement & Measurement Team, represented by Senior Engineer Husain Alabdeen, gave a distinguished presentation at the Custody Transfer & Metering Conference held in Abu Dhabi, UAE over two days.

Through a Paper titled “Overcoming Challenges in Commissioning and Utilizing Non-Radioactive MPFM for 10 Wells at Manifold", Alabdeen shared a successful field experience of commissioning and a well optimization campaign using non-radioactive multiphase flow meters (MPFMs) at a Remote Header Manifold (RHM) for 10 wells from various reservoir zones, before handing them over to the Gathering Centers.

The paper, set to capture the interest of oil & gas industry experts, demonstrates the lessons learned and how to ensure non-radioactive MPFM performance with multiple wells having different characteristics, thus achieving substantial improvements.

This has in fact resulted in enhanced oil production, reduced water-cut, quicker well response times, and improved reservoir models, which demonstrates the reliability and efficiency of non-radioactive MPFMs, setting new standards for well testing and production optimization.​​
