Under the patronage of His Excellency the Kuwaiti Minister of Oil, Tariq Sulaiman Al-Roumi, and attended by his representative, KPC CEO Sheikh Nawaf Saud Al-Sabah in the opening session, KOC hosted the Regional Clean Sea Organization (RECSO) EnviroSpill Conference & Exhibition, over a period of three days.
The event, held under the slogan "Sustainable Clean Seas", took place at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in 360 Mall and saw broad international and regional participation from the most prominent executives, experts, and specialists in the field.
The opening session featured several notable speeches, including one by Sheikh Nawaf Al-Sabah, representing the event's sponsor. He spoke about Kuwait's efforts in ensuring a clean marine environment through numerous laws and legislations. The Conference's head and Chairman of RECSO Sami Al-Sawagh, also spoke, outlining the challenges facing the organization and its partners, as well as the solutions that would be discussed during the event.
Following this, Saudi Aramco's Senior Vice President of Industrial Services, Mishari Al-Sheikh Mubarak, delivered a speech before the first main session began. The session was titled "Forging Partnerships for Rapid Response and Environmental Resilience: Collaborative Strategies in Oil Spill Incident Management". KOC CEO Ahmad Jaber Al-Eidan participated in the session, highlighting the Company's longstanding relationship with RECSO. He emphasized that KOC highly prioritizes the cleanliness and safety of the seas, particularly after the commencement of marine exploration operations that led to two major discoveries within just seven months.
Al-Eidan welcomed all the participants, wishing them success in their discussions and in finding optimal solutions to the challenges facing the achievement of their shared goals.
The most notable participants, speakers, partners, and sponsors were also honored during the event, including regional and international companies, organizations, and prominent figures. This was followed by a tour of the accompanying exhibition, which showcased the latest technologies and products for combating oil leaks and spills.
Over the course of three days, the conference discussed various solutions, technologies, and applications related to this year's theme: Sustainable Clean Seas, as well as the best response strategies. This biennial international event focuses on oil spill prevention, preparedness, and response.
