Within the framework of the Kuwait Environmental Remediation Program, KOC signed three different contracts to treat soil polluted as a result of the invasion, and to rehabilitate lands damaged by burning wells in several areas in South Kuwait.
The attendees of the signing ceremony, that was held in the Company's Main Building in Ahmadi, were headed by KOC CEO Ahmad Jaber Al-Eidan, and Heads of contracted companies and their local and international partners. These companies were Al Ghanim International, Enshaat Al-Sayer, and The Contractor.
A number of DCEO's, Group Managers, Team Leaders, and concerned employees attended the event, along with Kuwait National Focal Point representative Zaki Nussiebah.
Al-Eidan launched the signing ceremony by welcoming the attendees, commending the efforts of the Soil Remediation Group to follow up, implement, and supervise KERP projects; the largest program of its kind worldwide.
It is worth noting that the contracts signed are South Kuwait Excavation, Transportation, and Remediation (Phase II), aiming to clean and treat lakes and soil contaminated by burning wells during Iraq's invasion, using modern treatment methods. Remediation of 8.34 million cubic meters of soil is expected to be completed in South Kuwait.
