Directorate of Exploration & Drilling Holds Second Exploration Forum
Under the patronage and presence of the CEO Mr. Ahmed Jaber Al-Aidan, the Directorate of Exploration and Drilling, represented by the Exploration Group, organized the second KOC Exploration Forum at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Al-Kout Complex in Fahaheel.

The forum was held under the theme "Promoting Oil and Gas Exploration Operations in Kuwait as a Driver of National Growth and Prosperity." Several KOC DCEO's, Group Managers, representatives of Kuwait Gulf Oil Company, Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company, representatives of international oil companies (Halliburton, Shell, Schlumberger, and BGP), and a host of of employees and guests attended the event.
The DCEO (South & East Kuwait) and acting DCEO Exploration & Drilling Mr. Eisa Al-Maraghi initiated the forum with a welcome speech noting that KOC set a challenging target under the 2040 Strategy that required concerted efforts and the highest levels of technology to sustain growth, production capacity and production replacement. He also stressed the fact that the exploration operations had shifted focus from production to the addition of new reserves as a step towards sustainability, through the development of new exploration capabilities.
For his part, Manager Exploration Group, Mohammad Dawwas Al-Ajmi, delivered a speech in which he touched on the nine major initiatives of the Company, noting that five of them relate to exploration. He underlined that the "E2P" initiative, which was launched 10 years ago, was a good starting point that enabled the Company to achieve a good part of its objectives. He explained that the goal of the forum is to share knowledge and views with sister companies and partners on the latest developments of exploration, stimulate innovative ideas and best practices, and handling existing challenges.
In the meanwhile, representatives of sister companies delivered presentations in which they touched on their exploration efforts, while the presentations of KOC partners focused on their relationship with KOC and efforts to develop that relationship.
Then, officials, followed by attendees, reviewed posters of exploration operations, major projects, new capabilities and destinations for exploration and strategic partnerships. Afterwards, specialists from KOC delivered presentations on the development of analysis operations, major projects, marine exploration, Kuwait Bay, and Heavy Oil fast track and Bahra oilfield. Manager Exploration Group concluded the forum with a statement in which he thanked all participants.
