KOC, represented by the Development Drilling & Workover Team (VIII) of the Development Drilling Group (II), recently participated in the SPE Asia Pacific Oil & Gas Exhibition and Conference (APOGCE 2020), which was held in Australia through a virtual communication system which utilized video technology to allow participants from around the world to take part.
The Team presented a technical paper in which it described the results of its experience in using cement bonds to improve the production environment for oil wells. The paper was discussed before a technical committee of senior experts from the American Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE).
Senior Engineer Faisal Al-Naqa and Drilling Engineer Al-Anoud Al-Mikhlef presented the content of the paper and explained its details to the members of the committee, in the presence of TL Abdullah Al-Ajmi and Senior Engineer Abdulaziz Al-Rashoud.
Al-Ajmi confirmed that a great effort was made to participate in this event despite the exceptional circumstances associated with the COVID-19 global pandemic. Al-Ajmi also commended the work of the team members and thanked the Group's Manager, Ali Al-Saleh, for the support he has provided.
The event, organized by SPE, witnessed the presentation of 102 technical papers. KOC and Saudi Aramco were the only companies from the GCC to participate in the event.
