KOC Wins ADIPEC 2012 Award

KOC recently won the 2nd place award in the Middle East & North Africa’s Best MENA Oilfield/Gas Field Management category during the Abu Dhabi Oil & Gas Exhibition Conference (ADIPEC) 2012. Themed “Sustainable Energy Growth: People, Responsibility and Innovation,” the exhibition was held in Abu Dhabi on November 11-14 under the Patronage of the UAE’s President, HH Sheikh Khalifa Bin-Zayed Al-Nahyan. KOC won the award in recognition of its project management of KwIDF, one of the most advanced technological solutions for generating information about Kuwait’s fields in real-time, which helps KOC make the appropriate decisions in terms of drilling wells and developing fields in a fast and efficient manner. ADIPEC 2012 is considered the largest oil and gas event in the Middle East. The exhibition features more than 109 exhibitors with over 200 speakers from 39 countries, 50 technical sessions across seven streams covering five disciplines including Geosciences, Fields Development, Drilling, Projects Maintenance and Operations. KOC took part in the exhibition and conference through a delegation headed by C&MD Sami Al-Rushaid and comprising DMD (NK) Hosnia Hashem and a number of KOC employees of different ranks. In October, KOC commissioned KwIDF in a special ceremony attended by Kuwaiti Prime Minister HH Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, who hailed the efforts exerted by KOC to develop its business and projects. KOC officials reiterated that the center would help contribute toward the KPC strategic goal of achieving 4 million/bbpd by 2020. |
