The first coordination forum for the gas industry in Kuwait was held, in the presence of the Deputy CEOs of the oil companies affiliated with the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation related to the gas industry, in the VIP Hall of the Ahmed Al-Jaber Oil and Gas Exhibition.
The forum was chaired by Bader Al-Munaifi, DCEO Gas and Innovation at KOC, and attended by Ghadeer Al-Qadfan, Deputy Managing Director for Operations in the Global Marketing Sector at KPC, DCEO Petrochemicals and Liquefied Natural Gas at the Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Company (KIPIC) Abdullah Al-Ajmi, DCEO Technical and Commercial Affairs at the Kuwait Gulf Oil Company, Mohammad Al-Zaabi, in addition to a number of Group Managers.
The participants in the forum discussed the importance of the gas industry in power generation in Kuwait, the accompanying problems and future challenges facing this industry, in addition to the opportunities available for its development.
It was decided to work on the establishment of coordinating committees that include representatives of all relevant companies, and work on direct coordination in operations with the aim of sustaining production, avoiding any disruption, and reducing gas flaring.
It was also decided to hold an annual gas conference in which all relevant authorities in Kuwait will participate, including the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research, the Environment Public Authority, Kuwait University, the Public Investment Authority, the Public Authority for Industry, and the Public-Private Partnership Projects Authority, in addition to oil companies.
It was also agreed that the forum would become periodic to follow up on all activities and technical developments in line with the New Kuwait 2035 Vision.
