Kuwait University conducts the Closing Ceremony of the First Training Course for KOC Engineers

Kuwait University, represented by the College of Engineering and Petroleum, organized the closing ceremony of the first training course for KOC engineers, as part of the "Lab Evaluation of Polymer Flooding" project sponsored by the Company.

348.1.jpgThe ceremony was held for the course, which falls under the knowledge transfer activities in the aforementioned project, supervised by Dr. Mishaal Al-Ghareeb from the Department of Petroleum Engineering at the College, in the College Dean's meeting room. It was attended by KOC DCEO Gas & Innovation Bader Al-Munaifi, Manager Innovation & Technology Group Hamad Al-Zaabi, TL Planning & Support Abdulla Al-Otaibi, TL Enhanced Hydrocarbon Recovery Dawoud Kamal, Manager Oil Extraction Enhancement Projects Dr. Mohammad Al-Mariri, and Consultant Dr. Dha Gharbi.

348.2.jpgThe attendees from Kuwait University were Acting Vice President for Research Prof. Othman Al-Khader, Assistant Vice President for Analysis and Development of Research Prof. Dr. Nouria Al-Kandari, Assistant Vice President for External Research Cooperation and Consultations Dr. Haneen Al-Ghabra, Dean of the College of Engineering and Petroleum Prof. Dr. Khaled Al-Hazaa, Head of the Petroleum Engineering Department Dr. Mabkhout Al-Dosari, and Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs Prof. Dr. Suroor Al-Otaibi.

The ceremony opened with a speech from Dr. Al-Khader where he welcomed the attendees, reviewing aspects of scientific and research cooperation between the two sides, and stressing the University's continuous efforts to overcome obstacles to achieve fruitful research cooperation with KOC.

348.3.jpgIn his speech, Al-Munaifi stressed the importance and depth of the relationship between KOC and Kuwait University, which represents the future. He highlighted that the course contributes to raising the aptitude of KOC employees and comes after seeing the excellence of the College of Engineering and Petroleum at Kuwait University's graduates. He concluded his speech by expressing his wishes of success for everyone to achieve further development and progress in different fields.

In this context, Dr. Mishaal Al-Ghareeb, the project supervisor, gave a visual presentation on the training course, which aims to introduce the Company's Reservoir Engineers to the scientific methods used in evaluating polymer solutions used in immersion operations to improve the efficiency of oil reservoir production. He discussed the lectures given and the experiments conducted during the course.

At the end of the ceremony, commemorative shields were presented to the Company officials and engineers participating in the training course, and photos were taken.
