KOC Participates in SPE Kuwait International Symposium on Energy Transition
With the attendance of Deputy CEO Planning & Innovation Mohammad Al-Abduljaleel, the Society of Petroleum Engineers held the “SPE Kuwait International Symposium: Sustainable Oil and Gas Production Development during the Energy Transformation", which was sponsored by KOC, SLB, and Baker Hughes.
The event was held over two days at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, and attended by all Symposium Committee members who organized the event, namely the Symposium Chair, Manager Operations Support (Gas) Group at KOC Dr. Fahad Al-Ghanem, and a large number of concerned officials from all participating entities.

Dr. Al-Ghanem gave the opening remarks of the event, where he greeted the attendees and stressed the importance of collaboration during this critical period, encouraging everyone to gain insight from the industry leaders present and share knowledge, and to embrace learning and stay on the lookout for opportunities to grow.
Al-Abduljaleel followed with the keynote speech, where he reaffirmed that the global community is united in energy transition, which serves our planet and future generations, while highlighting the Kuwaiti oil sector's dedication to sustainability.
The DCEO then briefly touched on the ambitious goal to achieve Net Zero Emissions by 2050 and the efforts KOC makes in this context, concluding by stating that we are championing this journey while simultaneously meeting the growing global energy demands.
Al-Abduljaleel, Dr. Al-Ghanem, as well as all the event sponsors were then honored, with special appreciation towards the SPE Symposium Committee members.
This was followed by the inauguration of the accompanying exhibition, and a number of technical sessions and strategic panel sessions continued over two days covering various topics related to energy transition, digitization, and sustainability goals.
