The Director General of the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research
(KISR), Dr. Samira Al-Sayed Omar, recently paid a visit to KOC as part of the
ongoing cooperation which exists between the two parties, particularly with
regard to the Kuwait Environmental Remediation Program (KERP).

The Director General of KISR and her delegation were received at the
Ahmad Al-Jaber Oil & Gas Exhibition by Manager Soil Remediation Group Sami
Al-Yaqout, where a meeting was conducted between the two sides. Other KOC
officials in attendance included Team Leader Soil Remediation Projects (II)
Muthanna Al-Momen and Team Leader Soil Remediation Support Nada Al-Qallaf.

The focus of the research has included documenting the significant
efforts made by both sides with other State entities under the Soil Remediation
Program, which is the largest bioremediation project of its kind in the world.
This has been highlighted through a book which is currently being prepared for
this purpose, which documents the State of Kuwait’s efforts to uphold and
protect the integrity of its natural landscape and environment.
