KOC recently completed the
construction of the Al-Magwa Bridge in Sabhan. The undertaking was made
possible thanks to the close cooperation of several KOC departments, whose
employees displayed great professionalism and commitment to the project.
The bridge has served as an
important new asset for KOC, as recently one of the Company’s drilling rigs and
associated components was successfully transported across the bridge in a
single trip.
During the construction of the
bridge, the Company used some of the world’s most advanced technologies in
cooperation with the specialized German company which lent its support to the
project’s completion. The bridge, which uses some of the strongest concrete
fabrication methods, is able to bear the weight of drilling rigs which can
weigh as much as 450 tons.
