Under the patronage and presence of H.E. the Minister of Oil and Minister of Electricity & Water Bakheet S. Al-Rashidi, and in the presence of KPC CEO Nizar Al-Adsani and KOC CEO Jamal Abdul Aziz Jaafar, KOC, represented by the Exploration and Gas Directorate, celebrated the inauguration of Gas Booster Station 171 in West Kuwait. This achievement comes within the framework of KPC and KOC strategies that aim to complete a number of projects that will increase the production of free and associated gas.
The ceremony, which was attended by a number of DCEOs and officials from KOC, included a field visit to the facility, where visitors learned about the new technology that is being implemented to achieve the highest levels of performance for the Company.
On the sidelines of the ceremony, KOC CEO Jamal Jaafar said that the commissioning of the facility is a significant achievement and a qualitative leap for the infrastructure of gas operations in West Kuwait. He maintained that KPC is looking forward to making Kuwait a pioneer in the oil and gas industry by achieving the optimal value of hydrocarbons and increasing the performance levels of all activities while adhering the highest possible levels of HSE standards.
He added that as part of this vision, KOC was keen to facilitate research, adopt the latest technologies, and acquire international expertise, in addition to training the next generation of Kuwaiti employees in order to meet the challenges of the oil and gas industry.
DCEO Exploration & Gas Menahi Al-Anezi also spoke about the advantages of the station that produces oil and associated gas from WK fields through three Gathering Centers (17, 27, 28), in addition for the Early Production Unit.
