Under the patronage of DCEO Gas
& Innovation Bader Al-Munaifi, the Company’s Innovation & Technology
Group recently organized a panel discussion with Kuwait University’s Petroleum
Engineering Department. The discussion focused on the mutual cooperation that
exists between the two sides in terms of operating the Kuwait International
Petroleum Research Center (KIPRC).
The workshop was held in the main
conference hall of the Ahmad Al-Jaber Oil & Gas Exhibition. It was attended
by KOC Innovation & Technology Group Manager Hamad Al-Zaabi and Dr. Mabkhot
Al-Dosari, Head of the Petroleum Engineering Department at Kuwait University.
Personnel from the university’s faculty and KOC employees were also in
attendance.
During the event, participants
discussed the initiation of cooperation protocols between the two sides,
including the technological roadmap for exploration and production, partnership
in the fields of research and technology, and preparing national research teams
to manage and operate the Kuwait International Petroleum Research Center.
Participants also discussed the
graduate program at Kuwait University, the fields of research and
specialization for faculty members in the Department of Petroleum Engineering,
as well as the significant efforts made to overcome obstacles in the development
of this cooperation for the benefit of both parties and the State of Kuwait.
In a statement he made at the
conclusion of the event, Innovation & Technology Group Manager Hamad
Al-Zaabi upheld his belief that the organization of such workshops were part of
the foundation for the graduate program at Kuwait University. He added that the
purpose of this cooperation was to prepare and develop the skills of Kuwaiti
nationals who seek to specialize in research and development and become vital
elements in the establishment and management of the Kuwait International
Petroleum Research Center.
