As part of a collaborative effort between the Fire
Group and the Training & Career Development Group, fitness and ability
tests were recently conducted for individuals who applied for firefighter job
openings at KOC. The tests were
conducted in the presence of Manager Fire Group Faisal Mirza and a number of
Team Leaders and instructors.

During the event, Mirza welcomed the applicants and
explained the important role firefighters play in the Company’s emergency
response system, in addition to the prominent humanitarian role they hold by
protecting the local community. Mirza then encouraged those in attendance to
put forth their best efforts in order to pass the tests, which were designed in
accordance with the strictest international standards. Applicants who pass the
initial tests and examinations will then be assigned to KOC’s foundational
firefighter course before assuming positions within the Company.

Chief Fire Officer Fahad Al-Foudari from the Training
Department of the Organization Resilience Team then discussed the various
stages associated with the tests, in addition to presenting information which
touched on the safety procedures which are closely followed at the test site.
He concluded that the tests adhere to the most current standards within the
field, and that those who pass will qualify for the KOC firefighter course.
