KOC recently signed a Protocol of Cooperation (POC) with the Ministry of Defense (MOD) regarding the start of offshore drilling and oil and gas exploration operations in Kuwait’s territorial waters.

DCEO Exploration & Drilling Ahmad Al-Eidan represented KOC during the signing ceremony, which was held at the Ahmad Al-Jaber Oil & Gas Exhibition. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defense was represented by Brigadier General Mohammed Turki Al-Mutairi and delegated by the Chief of Staff.
The signing ceremony was attended by a number of KOC Group Managers and Team Leaders, in addition to Naval Brigadier General Ahmed Al-Batti and a number of MOD officers.

In a speech he delivered during the event, Al-Eidan said that offshore drilling operations would begin next March.
Meanwhile, the representatives from the Ministry of Defense said that they hope for continued cooperation between the two parties to achieve part of the State’s strategy as it relates to the “Kuwait 2035” vision.
After the signing, a tour of the exhibition was organized for the MOD delegation, where they were briefed on the history of the oil and gas industry in the State of Kuwait.
