Medical Consultant (Pediatrics) Dr. Sulaiman Al-Munaifi, the World
Breastfeeding Week Seminar was held at the New Ahmadi Hospital, with the
attendance of doctors and nurses at the Hospital, in addition to a number of
people of interest.
At the opening
of the event, which aimed to raise awareness on the importance of
breastfeeding, Dr. Al-Munaifi expressed that he is proud to have such an
activity that serves the community, adding that Ahmadi Hospital is the first
hospital in Kuwait to celebrate this event.
The event
featured presentations from a number of doctors and specialists in the
Hospital, including Dietician at Ahmadi Hospital Dr. Sarah Al-Kandari, who
discussed the importance of breastfeeding from a dietician’s perspective, and
elaborated on the criteria of the Baby Friendly Hospital Initiation (BFHI).
For their
part, Clinical Charge Nurse (UD) Kawthar Al-Kandari and Clinical Charge Nurse
(UD) Dalal Hussain explained what World Breastfeeding week is, and the benefits
of breastfeeding to mother, baby, and even society and the environment at
large.
The event
also awarded Reservoir Engineer in New Fields Development Team (1) in the
Company Manayer Salmeen as Breastfeeding Ambassador of Ahmadi Hospital for 2022
due to how her exclusive breastfeeding helped her premature babies.
