Acting on its principle of national responsibility, Kuwait Oil
Company, represented by the Fire Group, participated in combating the huge fire
that broke out Monday evening in one of Kuwait Ports Authority’s strategic
warehouses, west of Mina Abdullah.
The Company's contribution to the fire extinguishing process
— which spanned an area of about one million square meters and in which eight
teams from various institutions led by the Kuwait Fire Service Directorate
participated — came within the framework of supporting the efforts of state
institutions in all sectors, as well as due to the great experience and
tremendous capabilities that the Company has in managing major accidents.
These efforts culminated in successfully controlling the
fire without any human injury. His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister
of Interior, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Anas Al-Saleh, and His
Excellency the Minister of State for Services Affairs, Minister of State for
National Assembly Affairs Mubarak Al-Harees, and a number of officials in the
state, attended the scene to inspect the firefighting operations.
It is worth noting that this success was the result of joint
cooperation with state institutions, and the strategic efforts and plans that
have been put in place to develop the Company's capabilities in terms of both
national equipment and expertise to deal with the various dangers that come
with the Company's operations, as well as its national duty to enhance and
support Kuwait’s security.
