KOC won the SAG Award
for 2020 in recognition of its Unified Geospatial Platform, KOC MapsPortal.
The award was
announced as part of the annual GIS User Conference.
ESRI, a company
specialized in geographic systems based in California, offers the SAG Award
once a year. The award is given after carefully studying newly developed
geographic systems used by companies and institutions around the world, in
order to choose the most successful from nearly 300,000 companies and
institutions.
The choice is made
based on a set of technical standards that include the novelty of computer technologies
and components used in the system, in addition to the quality and accuracy of
implementation, the efficiency of the system, and the extent to which it meets
the operational requirements of the organization as a whole.
As a step towards
comprehensive digital transformation, KOC had launched a project to develop the
KOC MapsPortal system, with the aim of updating its geographic information
system using GIS Portal technology for integrated enterprise systems.
