KOC and the
Air Navigation Department from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA)
recently renewed their cooperation agreement, which oversees the use of
helicopter services for transport and air ambulance activity - a service which
KOC launched last year.

The
agreement was signed on behalf of the Company by Team Leader Transport
Operations Engineer Hezam Al-Ajmi, while Faisal Al-Asousi from the Air
Navigation Department signed on behalf of the DGCA. The contract renewal
includes the addition of a new airstrip for the Company’s operations in South
Ratqa.
Al-Ajmi
organized a visit for the DGCA representatives to the facilities of the main
helicopter operations facility in Ahmadi. The visit aimed to consolidate
relations between the two parties and follow up on the procedures and
operations related to the Company’s helicopter service activities. In addition,
the visit also served as a further example of the continuous cooperation
between the two parties in the interest of the State of Kuwait.

The visit
included a drill which oversaw the request of an evacuation service and air
ambulance for an emergency situation. This was followed by the members of the
visiting delegation expressing their admiration for what KOC has accomplished
at the facility and the extent of the preparedness displayed by the Company to
meet the required services. At the conclusion of the event, Al-Ajmi thanked the
Civil Aviation Administration for its cooperation in overcoming all obstacles
related to this vital project.
