KOC recently signed contracts for the construction of three Gathering Centers in its North Kuwait Operations Zone, which falls in line with ongoing plans to increase oil production in NK from 700,000 BOPD to 1 million within the next five years.
The first contract was signed with PETROFAC for the construction of GC-29 with a contract value of about KD 194 million, while a second contract was signed with Larsen & Toubro to construct GC-30 with a contract value of about KD 240 million. The third contract was signed with Dodsal to construct GC-31 with a contract value of KD 228 million.
During a special ceremony held on the occasion of signing the contracts, CEO Hashem S. Hashem affirmed the importance of these projects and described them as critical to boosting production capacity in North Kuwait.
In this context, the CEO emphasized the need to comply with HSE regulations and expressed hope that the projects will be executed within the set timeframe and allocated budget.
On their side, the officials of the companies that won the contracts have reassured Company officials that the three projects will be implemented in accordance with the set timetable and in line with the HSE regulations in place. They voiced optimism that the projects will contribute toward enhancing cooperation between their respective companies and KOC.
