The West Rawdatain Gas Production Facility was recently inaugurated and commissioned for light oil and Jurassic gas production in a ceremony that was held under the auspices of H.E. Bakheet S. Al-Rashidi, Minister of Oil and Minister of Electricity & Water. KPC CEO Nizar Al-Adsani and of Acting KOC CEO Abdulla Al-Sumaiti, DCEO (MP&TS) Esam Al-Houti, DCEO (NK) Nayef Al-Anezi, and DCEO Exploration & Gas Menahi Al-Anezi, whose Directorate is supervising the project, were also in attendance.
The inauguration was part of the Minister’s field visit agenda to follow up on the development of projects in North Kuwait. During his visit, the Minister was provided with information about the latest work and progress KOC has made in terms of oil and gas production in North Kuwait. The delegation of senior leaders also visited Gathering Center 29 in Rawdatain Field and the Sabriya Station for Jurassic gas production.
The West Rawdatain facility, which is part of three similar stations that were commissioned last January, will gradually contribute to the enhancement of free oil and gas recovery. The third and last station in East Rawdatain is expected to be commissioned in the next few months, which will allow for 500 MMSCFD of free gas production in the first quarter of the next fiscal year while light oil production is expected to rise by 200,000 BPD in the same period.
