Within the Gas Field Development Group efforts to acquire the most advanced and state of art technology, in order to use it in the development and improvement of oil and free gas production, and under the guidance of Manager Ealian Al-Anzi, Gas Field Development Studies organized a joint workshop with "Shell" Global, held under the supervision of TL Qasim Al-Dashti,.
Various KOC departments concerned with the ETSA contract attended the workshop, with a view to transfer modern technology from Shell to KOC.


The workshop resulted in agreeing on the identification of all modern technologies that are universally used in oil and natural gas production from difficult reservoirs, and are exactly 206 technologies, knowing that 50 technologies have already been transferred from previous workshops, and were applied in oil and gas industry.
Participating departments from different KOC’s assets, mainly Deep Drilling, HSE, Well Surveillance, and Oil & gas Field Development, worked hard to harness these agreed technologies in the joint Jurassic Gas project between the two companies.
The workshop lasted three days under the supervision and presence of TL Qasim Al-Dashti, and the presence of officials from the Task Force and a number of leading experts from “Shell".


To mark the event, the last day was attended by leading KOC officials who came in person to applaud the success of the workshop, with the most prominent Gas Field Development Group Manager Ealian Al-Anzi, Production & Projects (Gas) Group Manager Ali Al-Kandari, Deep Drilling Group Manager Saud Al-Foudari, and Research & Development Group Manager Mohamad Al-Qenaei, who listened to a detailed explanation about the transfer of technology to KOC.
