A group from Gas Fields Development Studies Team visited Shell International Oil Company (IOC) in Netherlands to discuss the final results related to the subsurface studies seismic interpretations where the KOC Team Lead Qasem Dashti and senior staff geologists and geophysicists reviewed in details what was achieved by updating of all subsurface models, seismic interpretations and the impact on Fields Development Plan and Oil and Gas Reserves for the Jurassic North Kuwait Fields.
The Subsurface Studies completed includes recent seismic interpretation both pre-stack time migration (PSTM) and pre-stack depth migration (PSDM) and resent advances in multiples Removal. The studies included also natural fractures subsurface mapping, rock typing and related laboratories activities, oil fingerprinting, flow units and facies identification, well logs and petrophysical recent update and analysis, and subsurface static model.
Also, the joint KOC and Shell team has reviewed and confirmed the subsurface dynamic model coupled with the surface network model and forecast results.
All recent technologies from Shell has been applied to all subsurface activities. The KOC Team lead Qasem Dashti identified all training opportunities for the Kuwaiti staff and confirmed the training plan with Shell Experts inside KOC and outside.
