Ahmadi Hospital Nursing Services Team plays a major role in the Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) Medical Group. It consists of a highly diverse group of over 1,000 motivated nurses with various specializations whose main focus is providing the highest standards of care, improving patient outcomes to meet our patients’ and stakeholders’ expectations.

Our nurses continuously strive to achieve excellence in nursing practice, embodies the core values of patient and family-centered care, accountability, autonomy and interdisciplinary collaboration. Ahmadi Hospital Nursing’s Professional Practice Model encompasses the conceptual framework for all nurses to achieve its mission, vision and philosophy.

In spearheading our commitment to Kuwaitization in Ahmadi Hospital, our Nursing Services Team in tandem with the broader Kuwait Oil Company Medical Group entered into a mutual agreement with Kuwait Public Authority in Applied Education and Training (PAAET) Nursing College for the year 2016-2020 in exploring and developing the country’s nurse leaders of the future.

As the Team Leader of Nursing Services in Ahmadi Hospital, I am filled with pride and immense gratitude to all who have, and continue to support our hospital’s shared commitment to providing top-quality care to our patients and their families.

Extent quality of Patient Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) Goal 1:

Ensure comprehensive care is provided to patients through documentation.

All nursing staff to maintain complete, accurate, reliable record of patient’s diagnosis, treatment, care, statistics, etc.

All nursing staff to meet the hospital standards on ensuring up-to-date electronic medical record in accordance with Hospital Information Management System.

Improve patient safety, and support better patient outcomes.

Collaborate with Hospital Information System to ensure that EMRs reduce medical errors, improve patient safety, and support better patient outcomes through:

  • Improved data collection, analysis, and communication of patient information,
  • Clinical alerts and reminders,
  • Support for diagnostic and therapeutic decisions,
  • Built-in safeguards against potential adverse events.
Promote Safe Use of Medical Equipment Goal 1:

Highlight the importance of checking equipment regularly to ensure that it is working correctly.

Collaborate with medical equipment unit to ensure that all nursing staff have been provided with:

  • Orientation and training on the devices/equipment in the clinical areas prior to using it.
  • Knowledge on what to check, troubleshooting guide.
  • Awareness on the medical devices operation manuals.

Ensure that patients are reassessed regularly to determine the need and effectivity of the devices.

Maintenance and update of equipment/preventive maintenance records.

  • Initiate a standard method for return, disposal or cleaning of all devices.
Build the Capacity of Health Promotion in Primary and Secondary Health Care Goal 1:

Promote healthy environment and lifestyle so that oil sectors employees and their dependents enjoy good health, social benefit and wellbeing.
